Special Issue Guideline

Special Issues deal with extra-focused topics that fall within the scope of the journal. They should be organized by recognized scholars in the area and attract articles of the highest quality. Guest Editors are invited to submit proposals with thematic topics for publication in AITI.

Proposal

To ensure that your proposal aligns with the scope of the journal, please review the journal's aims and scope before submitting your proposal. A proposal of 1-2 pages, Free Format, A4, MS-WORD, should be sent to aiti.taeti@gmail.com.

The proposal must include:

  • The title of the journal
  • The tentative title of the Special Issue
  • An introduction to the Special Issue (about 150-200 words): briefly describe the motivation behind the Special Issue and its key themes.
  • Topics to be covered in the Special Issue
  • Keywords: 4-6 words reflecting the key themes of the Special Issue
  • A proposed submission deadline
  • A list of Guest Editors: at least three Guest Editors from various countries are required, including their names, affiliations, and email addresses.

Proposals should fulfill all the requirements listed above and should be written in standard English. Proposals that do not meet these criteria will not be considered.

Once the proposals are accepted, the Call for Papers will be posted on the journal's website. A Special Issue section will also be set up in the online submission system.

Peer Review

Once an article is submitted to a Special Issue, the editorial office will conduct a pre-check to ensure that it is suitable for the peer review process. The article will then be sent to an Editorial Board Member in charge of the external peer-reviewed, following the same process as a regular submission.

When the external peer review is completed, and a decision is ready to be made, one of the Guest Editors will be invited to make an editorial recommendation. The final decision will be made by the Editorial Board Member or Editor-in-Chief, based on the Guest Editor's recommendation and the reviewers' comments.

Guest Editor Responsibilities

The Guest Editor's responsibilities are as follows:

  • I invite authors for the Special Issue, ensuring that the authors come from at least three different countries.
  • Make editorial recommendations based on the peer review results.
  • Provide an Editorial for the Special Issue.
  • Promote the Special Issue.

Guest Editor Ethics

The Guest Editor must comply with the Publication Ethics of the journal, which can be found under "About" on the journal's website. The following are specific ethics that the Guest Editor should follow:

  • Conflicts of Interest: the Guest Editor should remove themselves from the process if there is a conflict of interest. In the event of a conflict of interest, an alternative Editor will be assigned.
  • Confidentiality: the Guest Editor should protect the confidentiality of all material submitted to the journal.
  • Citation Policies: the Guest Editors must not ask authors to include references to their own or an associate’s work, in the submission.
  • Editor’s Submission: each Guest Editor can only publish one article in the special issue. Any article submitted by the Guest Editor will be handled by a member of the Editorial Board.
