Special Issues

1. Special Issue: Emerging Innovations in Artificial Intelligence and Artificial Internet of Things

Introduction

Artificial intelligence (AI) is the ability of a system to learn new things on its own without being encoded with commands. Recent advances in AI have revolutionized the world and affect our daily life. AI is widely applied to different fields, e.g., automobiles, navigation, robot, healthcare and medical diagonals, prognostic and health management of electronics and mechanical devices and equipment, agriculture, E-Commerce, Social Media, etc.

AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) has recently become a hot topic that combines AI and IoT. IoT consists of interconnected things with built-in sensors which will generate or collect a vast amount of data. An intelligent and efficient data processing is essential to make effective use of the information generated from these data. AI can add the value of IoT. Without AI, IoT would have limited value. IoT can promote the learning and intelligence of AI.

The ever-increasing demands of AI and AIOT techniques present a variety of opportunities, but also face many challenges, such as processing unstructured data, supporting IT systems, improving cybersecurity and privacy issues, complexity, efficiency, scalability, accuracy, and robustness related to the increasing modern AIOT systems and applications.

This special issue aims to provide the academic and industrial communities a venue covering all aspects of state-of-the-art advanced approaches, methods, and systems in the field of AI or AIoT technology and applications.
